At the session of the Government of Serbia today, a decision was made to extend the deadline for the use of replacement vouchers to December 31, 2022.
The Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Tatjana Matić, stated that in a statement submitted to the media, and explained that the Decree amending the Decree on offering a replacement trip for a tourist trip that was canceled or not realized due to a pandemic was adopted at the session.
– The new situation, which is caused by the corona virus pandemic, results in mass cancellations of tourist trips, which were partially or fully paid by March 15, 2020, regardless of the period of realization. In the interest of the passengers themselves, and in order to protect the actors of the tourism industry and the survival of numerous agencies and thousands of jobs, the relevant Ministry of Tourism proposed the adoption of amendments to the decree – said Matic.
He points out that the amendment stipulates that replacement travel, defined by the said decree, can be used by the passenger no later than December 31, 2022.
Matic added that if a passenger decides to refund the amount he paid for an unrealized trip or cancels a replacement trip, a company, other legal entity or entrepreneur, who as a travel organizer sold a tourist trip referred to in Article 2 of this regulation, is obliged to refund of paid funds no later than February 1, 2023.
The possibility of issuing an offer for a replacement trip, under the conditions of this regulation, also applies to excursions.
