Whether the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, violated the Constitution with his statements before the enthronement of the Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral – was the central topic of yesterday’s debate in the Montenegrin Parliament.

However, even this internal issue could not pass without “summoning” external enemies: the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, was again the target, as well as the Metropolitan of Ioannina.
Defending Djukanovic, SDP MP Draginja Vuksanovic Stankovic accused the police of working in Cetinje that day “on the orders of Aleksandar Vucic”! The representative of the party, which is in favor of Milo’s DPS, then attacked the Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral:
– He was delivered and delivered to the Cetinje monastery and he must not move from it without security! On September 4 and 5, the face of Montenegro and Cetinje was defended from traitors and foreign mercenaries.
The Socialist People’s Party, by the way, initiated a debate in the parliament on Djukanovic’s role before the events in Cetinje, and it was heard from the rostrum that he violated the Constitution with his performances. When the parliament decides, this topic will be on the agenda of the Constitutional Court, followed by another vote in the Assembly.

For the DPS and the rest of the opposition, the assessment that Djukanovic violated the constitution is “an attempt to compromise the President of Montenegro”. Jovan Vučurović, from DF, however, estimates:
– Djukanovic escaped from Cetinje that day and left his men in the lurch! If the DF had asked itself in the past year, we would not have discussed it in November 2021, but it would have been prosecuted and would be where those who committed serious crimes should be.
Movement for Change MP Branko Radulović said that Đukanović was most responsible for the events in Montenegro:
– He’s not a razor anymore. Justice must knock on his door and on the door of his comrades.
The URA said that they would support the proposal to initiate a procedure on whether the President of Montenegro violated the Constitution. And Jevto Eraković (DPS) said that the SNP proposal was “a political pamphlet, tendentiously based on torn parts of one statement”.
A WALK THROUGH CETINJE, THEN IN A TAVERN
The reason for the discussion about Djukanovic was his statement from August 28, when he said that he would come to the protest in Cetinje if he did not give up the enthronement of Metropolitan Ioaniki.
– I hope that I will not be in a situation to be in Cetinje on September 5, where the people of Cetinje are and where Montenegro is in the majority, where the dignity of the state is defended – said Djukanovic, who came to the protest on September 4, he sat in a tavern in Cetinje until late at night with party officials and businessmen.
