– It is really important for children to go to school. This is taking too long now, it will be two years in March. No matter how well we conducted online classes, it still cannot be compared to real classes in schools – said the Prime Minister for B92 television.
When it comes to the possible postponement of the winter holidays in schools, and some announcements that it could start two weeks earlier, Brnabić announced that she would consider what the medical part of the Republic Crisis Staff advises to suppress the coronary virus pandemic.
The Prime Minister said that her opinion is that while the situation is getting better, things should be kept as they are, in order to get room for maneuver in case of worsening of the epidemiological situation and the need for more radical measures.
She also pointed out that it is important for children to go to school not only because school is the safest for them, but also because we now have generations that have spent two years out of school and that it is necessary to find a balance, which is important, as she said. the Prime Minister, among other things, for the mental health of young people and their socialization.
She added that in the coming days she will have consultations with the medical part of the crisis staff about the epidemiological situation and possible new measures that could be introduced depending on the expectations of further development of the situation.
The Prime Minister especially emphasized that today, after a long time, it is below 20% positive from the number of those tested.
– I expect that we will have a session of the Crisis Staff next week, whether there will be some measures or no measures depends on the epidemiological situation and mostly depends on how our vaccination is going – Brnabić emphasized.
She added that we can win this pandemic only by vaccination and stated that over 3,070,000 citizens, ie up to 57% of those vaccinated, and that vaccination among young people is still unsatisfactory.
