WHEN someone goes through a difficult period in life, his skin “thickens” in some way, so he does not look at problems fatally, but develops an instinct for survival and is taught to fight. Just because you’re at the bottom at one point doesn’t mean you’ll stay there.

With these words, Aleksandar Čabrilo, a native of Mostar, owner and founder of HTEC group, a consulting company that specializes in the development of digital products, previously explained to the media his way to survive and succeed in the harsh world of business. His company announced a big business move yesterday – they bought “Momentum”, a design studio from Silicon Valley in San Francisco, a company that has worked with clients such as “Facebook”, “Logitec”, “Intel” in its 20 years of existence. “Master Card”, “Sony” … The company HTEC group, which started a little more than a decade ago as a small Serbian startup, has now become the owner of a renowned company from the epicenter of the world IT business!
According to HTEC, this is their strategically most important acquisition so far. “Momentum” was rated as the best digital product design studio in the past five years.

Čabrilo founded the HTEC group in Belgrade, then moved its headquarters to San Francisco, and they also have offices in Minnesota, London, Stockholm and Gothenburg. Their largest development centers are in Serbia – Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis and Subotica, and they recently opened an office in Banja Luka. In the last two years, the HTEC group has grown four times – from 250 employees in four technology and development centers in Serbia to over 1,000 employees in 12 locations, of which 850 are in Serbia.
However, when asked what his biggest business success is, he says:
– That I have the opportunity to work with the people I work with now. It is the best team in the area and beyond.
Chabrilo was taught from an early age to fight and never give up. He was born in Mostar in 1983, and his family fled to Serbia at the beginning of the war in BiH. He finished primary and secondary school in Pancevo and enrolled at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade. His father and mother worked day and night in order for the family to survive, and then exceptional work habits were instilled in him. While studying, he did various jobs.
He started in the world of digital technologies by, as a student, applying for an internship at Silicon Hive in the Netherlands. He returned to Serbia, started working alone as a consultant for this company, and then started creating and expanding his team. HTEC group was founded in 2008, when he was only 25 years old. Today, it is one of the most successful companies operating in Serbia and among those that record the highest growth in the region.
They employ 60 people a month
THIS is HTEC’s third acquisition, after the acquisition of Novi Sad’s Exekom and Belgrade’s Konstrukt. The company plans to continue to grow, and Aleksandar Cabrilo states that they employ more than 60 people a month and open new development centers throughout the region. We have opened development centers in Northern Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria …

They are preparing for the New York Stock Exchange
THIS news is important for Serbia and the entire region because HTEC has 12 development centers and this acquisition allows us to bring even better technologies and projects and give the opportunity to engineers from this region to work on them. We started last year with 250 employees, and we are finishing this year with more than 1,000 – says Katarina Urošević (pictured), director of corporate communications at HTEC.
She announced that HTEC would be listed on the New York Stock Exchange in two to three years, which would make it the first Serbian company on this stock exchange.
