MINISTER OF HEALTH Zlatibor Lončar stated today that there are no conditions for health institutions to leave the kovid regime and that this cannot be expected by mid-December. Loncar emphasized that, regardless of the decline in the number of infected people, there must be no relaxation and reiterated that vaccination is the only way out of the pandemic.

-If we would stop accepting patients in the KBC “Dragiša Mišović” and the City Hospital, with the current number of hospitalized, those institutions would not be able to get out of the covid system, Lončar told reporters after visiting the KBC “Zemun” which received a new angio room and a state-of-the-art multislice scanner.
The Minister said that there is no place for relaxation and that the numbers of infected people in European countries show that, emphasizing that for now, the vaccine is the only way to improve the epidemic situation.
He added that some countries are introducing mandatory vaccination in order to prevent their health system from collapsing and having thousands of dead.
– Measures are taken only for one reason, so that people do not get sick and die and so that the health system does not fall apart, said Lončar.
He emphasized that Serbia should use the current situation to increase the scope of vaccination of both unvaccinated and those who have not received a booster dose.
-It means little if you were vaccinated more than six months ago with two doses, as shown by examples from other countries. Those who were late with the booster dose also got sick. The vaccine is the only medicine, that is what we know and what we should use, stated Lončar.
