No anaphylactic shock was recorded, point out the Agency for Echoes and Medical Devices of Serbia (ALIMS). Adverse reactions are possible with the use of all drugs and medical devices, and they are always reported to the Agency for Drugs and Medical Devices (ALIMS), which is responsible for monitoring all reactions to drugs and medical devices. Details about the reported adverse reactions to the coronavirus vaccine were presented by the Agency’s representative, Jelena Mitršinović.
According to Mitrašinović, side effects to the vaccine usually appear immediately after immunization, and within a day or two after receiving the vaccine. She repeated what the authorities had pointed out before – that the most common side effects are manifested in the form of local reactions, such as pain, swelling, redness and sensitivity at the site of application.
In addition to these, there are also so-called systemic side effects in the form of fever, muscle pain, joint pain, chills, shivering, fatigue, flu-like syndrome and the like. She emphasizes that these are all expected reactions and that they are transient in nature, ie that they last for several days, and that they usually withdraw spontaneously or withdraw after the application of analgesics and antipyretics, ie drugs for lowering body temperature.

Loss of appetite, itching, anxiety – less common side effects
She also listed the side effects that are also expected, and thus described in the basic information about the drug, but which occur less frequently:
– These are, for example, loss of appetite, pruritus or itching at the injection site, then reactions that are associated with anxiety, in terms of rapid heartbeat, rapid breathing, and even loss of consciousness. Then there is an increase in regional lymph nodes, a short-term increase in liver transaminases, etc. These are all reactions that are expected, but with a slightly lower frequency in relation to this first group of the most common expected side effects – adds Mitrašinović.
According to Jelena Mitrašinović, most women report adverse reactions to vaccines, in as many as 65 percent of cases, and most often those between the ages of 18 and 44.
One reaction to 7,000 doses received
Mitrašinović presented encouraging data for all those who are still afraid of side effects to the vaccine and therefore avoid receiving them. She pointed out that a total of 1,169 cases of side effects were recorded in the Drug Agency on seven million doses of administered vaccines against covid 19.
– If we make statistics in the number of reported cases of adverse reactions in relation to the total number of administered doses, we have data that for approximately 7,000 given doses of vaccines, we have one report of adverse reactions to the vaccine. This is really an encouraging figure for all our citizens who have still decided to be unvaccinated and I would like to encourage all those who have not done so with this data, really realistic data that say that there is no reason to fear about unwanted reaction to vaccines – Mitrašinović underlined.

Without the most severe reactions after the vaccine in Serbia
As in the whole of Europe, but also in the world, the most severe adverse reactions to the vaccine were discussed in our country, so the interlocutor Marija Popović also addressed the topic of the most severe adverse reactions to the corona vaccine recorded in Serbia.
– First of all, I would pay attention to thrombotic events, cases of myocarditis, allergic reactions. Out of the total number reported to ALIMS, we have six reported cases of thrombosis, ie thrombophlebitis, where for each of these cases no clear connection has been established with the use of the vaccine “, states Jelena Mitrašinović and adds that the only case of reported myocarditis occurred after the Feiser vaccine. but that it was also indicated as an expected adverse reaction. Myocarditis appeared in a 59-year-old woman 15 days after receiving the second dose of the vaccine – she specified.
She also mentioned two reported cases of pericarditis and several cases of allergic reactions. In all situations, therapy was applied, followed by recovery. She said there were no reported cases of anaphylactic shock.
– What is very important to say when talking about these possible more serious side effects is that these are side effects that occur very rarely and our recommendation is that citizens follow the signs and symptoms and react to any symptoms that could be associated with the application vaccines, which means that they should contact their doctors in a timely manner, who are informed even about these more serious adverse events so that they can react in the right way and at the right time – advised the pharmacist from ALIMS, Jelena Mitrašinović.
