COME
The main topics were greater support for activism through amendments to the Law on Youth and the priorities of young people that would be included in the new National Strategy for Youth.
As stated by the KOMS, the participants singled out some of the problems and presented proposals, including the one on the introduction of the profession of youth worker in the Law on Youth. The importance of the existence of effective mechanisms for the participation of young people in all aspects was also emphasized, and it was suggested that it be obligatory to seek the opinion of young people for all future strategies or laws that apply to them. A proposal was made to hold meetings four times a year in 10 cities in Serbia.
The Minister agreed in principle and asked for concretized proposals in writing. As for the strengthening of the Youth Council and their participation, he stated that there is a systemic problem of colliding with other laws, but he will fight for these proposals to be recognized.
The need for the existence of space for young people that could be used for specific purposes was also emphasized, with a strict definition of who is allowed to use them. In the context of program financing, the Minister announced that a new competition for financing programs and projects in 2022 will be announced in January, and called on young people to react immediately if they see the need to change the Rulebook.
Udovicic also asked those present to express their opinions on how the vaccination of young people could be accelerated.
