Zaev told the Bulgarian agency Fokus that a Belgian citizen was among the victims, as well as that he saw all that information in the list of passengers. According to him, the passengers were between 40 and 50 years old, and the youngest victim was a 16-year-old girl.
He added that the seven surviving passengers slept in the back of the bus, and when the accident occurred, they broke through the window, jumped out of the bus and thus saved themselves.
– The Macedonian Minister of Internal Affairs informed me that the company Besa trans, whose bus is, is a tourist company and that the bus traveled on the line Istanbul-Sofia-Skopje – said Zaev.
He added that he did not know how fast the bus was moving at the time of the accident and that the investigation would show the condition of the vehicle.
The accident happened about three hours after midnight on the Sofia-Blagojevgrad highway, when one of the four buses with North Macedonian license plates returning from Istanbul caught fire.
