Jovic told Tanjug that the embassy is in contact with the competent Bulgarian institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the traffic police, but that no one has so far given any official confirmation that there are Serbian citizens among the victims.
– According to my assumption, all speculations from the media are based on the lists of passengers that the travel agency had. The big question is who was really on the bus, the media speculate that they repackaged from bus to bus, because four buses left Turkey – said Jovic.
According to the information, the last bus stop was at a gas station near Sofia, so it is assumed that passengers could have moved from one bus to another.
Jovic said that the Bulgarian Minister of Police stated on the spot that the picture was “catastrophic” and that the victims had been burned beyond recognition, and that the only possible identification was through DNA analysis.
