THE PRESIDENT of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, stated in an interview with the Russian journalist Vladimir Solovyov for the YouTube channel Sovovjev live, which was published in its entirety today, and whose previously unpublished parts were transmitted by Russian agencies, that Serbia is really on the European path, but will not spoil relations with Russia.

In an interview published on the eve of his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Vucuc said that various political entities from Europe share lessons and that they once even told him that he should not speak so loudly about Serbia’s successes.
Vučić said that when asked why not to speak loudly, he was told that it would cause a lot of problems and that everyone had to react.
– At that time, I just laughed and continued to do my job – said Vučić.
He pointed out that Serbia is on the European path, but that it will never spoil relations with Russia.
– We will appreciate Putin, we will have good relations with China, whether you like it or not, that is the policy of Serbia – Vučić pointed out.
He pointed out that Russia does not have to agree with his every position, but that Moscow has always shown respect for Serbia’s choice and that is why Serbia greatly appreciates President Putin.
– When I insisted on some things where some differences appeared, he even smiled, but he showed a correct attitude, his greatness and how much he respects the freedom of our people – said the President of Serbia.
Speaking about the threats of sanctions and the freezing of property, Vučić pointed out that he had nothing to freeze if he had no property, not a single dollar or euro abroad.
– I am only interested in what is important for my country, what I can do for my country – Vučić emphasized.
