The letter of thanks says:
“Dear Mr. Spirić, dear friends,
Let me thank you at the very beginning for the key and charter of your and our Kosovska Mitrovica, recognitions that have a special meaning and special emotional value for me, because they come as a confirmation that today’s Serbia is always with its people in Kosovo and Metohija.
Behind every recognition is dedicated work and effort, but I understand what you have given me today as recognition for the efforts we have made together all these years to preserve, even in the most difficult conditions, peace and security of our people in the province, and then our community. , without which there would be no today’s results and record investments of the state of Serbia in the development of Serbian communities in Kosovo and Metohija.
Today, Serbia is in the lead in economic development, direct foreign investments, GDP growth and as such is the guarantor of a strong Kosovska Mitrovica and an even more intensive investment cycle in Kosovo and Metohija in the time ahead. Therefore, dear friends, our destinies are inextricably linked and I will always fight for the prosperity and progress of Kosovska Mitrovica and all our communities in the province, whether they are located south or north of the Ibar!
Today, Kosovska Mitrovica is recognizable as a university, business and business center, which combines many potentials and provides a chance for further advancement and training of young people, who are in every society the bearers of overall development and generators of a better future. The transformation of this beautiful city in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, seventy-seven years since the liberation from the enemy in the Second World War, testifies to the overall progress of Serbian communities in Kosovo and Metohija and a better standard of living, which is our common priority.
Celebrating big dates, such as November 23 for Kosovska Mitrovica, the Day of Liberation from the Enemy in the Second World War, always has a historical and modern dimension. The fight against fascism is permanently woven into the foundations of the Serbian state, and the inhabitants of Kosovska Mitrovica mark this day as a symbol of the spirit of freedom and the memory of their brave fellow citizens, among whom there were over a thousand victims during the four-year struggle.
Remembering with pride the glorious past and glorious ancestors, we have an even more serious and stronger obligation, but also the desire to provide all citizens and generations to come with a secure future in this area, to enable displaced Serbs to return to their homes, and others safe and secure. survival. And in that direction, we will continue to act together, both you at the bar and we who are physically in Belgrade, but we are always with you with our thoughts and hearts.
I am sure that, despite all the difficulties and challenges that there are and will be, the results will not be missed. Kosovska Mitrovica will be more and more beautiful and advanced, full of youth and intelligence, which will be our driving force and hope for creating a new, better and more successful future. Because with the people, such as the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, Serbia does not have to worry about its future.
Congratulating you once again on today’s holiday, with gratitude for the recognitions you have given me, I want Kosovska Mitrovica to remain worthy of the values left to us by our glorious ancestors.
Long live Kosovska Mitrovica, long live Serbia! “
