– Today we are talking about several important topics. I’ll start with the one that matters most. These are new demographic measures and let me introduce you to what we are doing to raise the birth rate in Serbia. What we agreed with Minister Dmitrović and the entire Government, having in mind that we are disappearing as a nation, that the data show that the birth rate is a little more than 1.5, and for simple reproduction we need 2.15. We are getting older and our economic progress in the future will depend on how well we manage to ensure the progress of our nation through demographic measures.
– I want to say that from January 1, we will pay 300,000 dinars for each first child, we want to encourage mothers and families to give birth.
As for the second and third child, it will be significantly increased for the second child, because the second child is a turning point for mothers, but also for fathers. We will take special care of the birth of another child, but those measures will be significantly strengthened – said the president.
