It is not possible to go to the GREAT Serbian shrine, the Hilandar monastery, until further notice, and the monastic fraternity, among which there are those infected with the coronavirus, is currently going well through the new pandemic situation.

According to the Hilandar Endowment, which is also in charge of secular events related to this monastery on Mount Athos, “none of the sick monks has a more severe clinical picture.”
Her statement highlights the following description of the current situation:
“The Holy Monastery of Hilandar has been closed for visits since Sunday, November 21, due to several cases of kovida 19 in the monastery fraternity.
The Holy Municipality of Mount Athos, although currently limited to worshipers, has established measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus, including mandatory testing of all before boarding a ship to Mount Athos, a limit of 10 visitors per day per monastery and a ban on movement. between monasteries, except those with special permission.
None of the sick monks in Hilandar has a severe clinical picture and the situation is under control. Worship services and daily activities are held regularly.

Doctors and medical technicians, members of the Hilandar Medical Society, who have extensive experience in the fight against coronavirus and stay in the “red zones”, stay in the monastery.
