The LEGAT of prima ballerina and baroness Ivanka Lukateli (1948) was opened today in the Ceremonial Hall of the Adligat Association for Culture, Arts and International Cooperation. The opening was attended by the director Ljubisa Ristic, as well as the ballet troupe of KPGT, which has been trained by Lukateli for years, and which performed a special program on this occasion.
The legacy, which is accompanied by an occasional exhibition, among other things, contains a complete archive and photo archive that Lukateli collected about her performances. Awards, personal belongings, a song written by the poet Miroslav Antić for the famous prima ballerina, which was recently premiered by “Novosti”, as well as a picture he painted for her, were also shown. There are also hundreds of letters and congratulations from colleagues and friends. The exhibition will be open in Adligat until December 15, and then it will be sent to other cities throughout Serbia.
The exhibition also features paintings by Ivanka’s father, a well-known Montenegrin painter and one of the founders of Montenegrin cinematography, Anton Lukateli.
– The biggest surprise was the opening of the legacy on the day of my birth, and when I saw the exhibition prepared by good and smart people, only then did I realize what I had done in my life. As the vice president of Adligat, my friend Gorica Lazić, says, I am now in my zero year, I am starting from scratch – said Ivanka Lukateli.
Lukateli is one of the most important Serbian ballerinas, the prima ballerina of the National Theater in Belgrade and the Bavarian National Theater in Munich. She appeared on the stage more than five thousand times, of which as many as three hundred times playing in “Swan Lake”. At the same time, she is one of the most important Serbian ballet pedagogues, who held 27,000 classes on several continents during her working life. She worked as a ballet director at the Serbian National Theater in Novi Sad, and at the National Theater in Belgrade. She graduated from the “Lujo Davicho” Secondary Ballet School, and specialized at the Moscow State Ballet School. As a top ballerina, she was a guest in almost all countries of the world, and her success at the International Competition of Young Ballet Artists in Moscow, in the finals of the competition of ballet couples in Japan and solo engagement at the Munich Opera was especially noticeable.
She is one of the most awarded Serbian ballet artists. Among other things, she received five theater awards for the best annual achievements (National Theater), awards of the Ljubljana Biennale for the best achievement, awards for the best artistic achievement of the city of Munich, October Award of the City of Belgrade, Lifetime Achievement Award of the Association of Ballet Artists of Serbia. – I was born in Belgrade, I lived in Moscow for a year, a little less in Japan, I played in the Munich Ballet for two years, I also worked in Istanbul, Panama, Sicily … Through art, and everyone understands the art of dance, my life is connected to the whole world – says Ivanka Lukateli.
It is interesting that Ivanka Lucateli bears the title of baroness and comes from a famous Italian family whose members include, among others, a pope, then the famous composer and violinist from the 18th century Pietro Antonio Locateli, and a famous football player.
The legacy was formed on the initiative of the member of the founder of the Adligat Association, Stevanka Češljarova.
