BLOCK B1 in the thermal power plant “Nikola Tesla B”, after the successful completion of the revitalization, was put into trial operation on Friday morning. By connecting this plant to the network, stability in the power supply has been ensured and the megawatts that Serbia lacked have been compensated, so that it will no longer have to import electricity. It is also very important that the emission of harmful substances is reduced.

As promised during the visit of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, the revitalization of block B1 was completed on time, and thus the energy security of the state was additionally ensured – said the acting director of “Elektroprivreda Srbije”, Milorad Grčić. – This unit now has a capacity of 670 megawatts, which is 20 megawatts more than before the modernization, and its service life has been additionally extended and efficiency has increased.
In addition, this revitalization will reduce nitrogen oxide emissions below 200 milligrams per cubic meter.
– Ecological projects are being worked on intensively in TENT A and B – stated in EPS. – The goal is that in the largest electricity factory in the Balkans, where more than half of the electricity is produced, all projects for environmental protection are realized and that by 2027 all EPS thermal power plants will be in full compliance with the Industrial Emissions Directive.
Energy expert Milos Zdravkovic estimates that connecting to the network of the revitalized Block B1 means energy stability and security. He points out that this brings an inflow to the budget:
– We increased the installed power and got 20 megawatts more, and the lifespan was extended by 30 years. That overhaul had to be done, because the thermal power plant would stop. It is also important that we do not have to import electricity now. We missed him so much. We are also lucky that we imported electricity from Republika Srpska and we can return it in megawatts, and not pay for it.
