The Torlak INSTITUTE has so far produced 1.5 million doses of Sputnik V vaccine against the corona virus, and the plan is to produce another 2.5 million doses of the first and second components of that vaccine by the end of this year, said the director of the Institute, Dr. Vera Stoiljkovic.

As Dr. Stoiljković stated in an interview for “Blic”, the Institute hopes for the continuation of cooperation with Russian partners, but also for its expansion.
– The further course of the epidemic will take place depending on the increase in the number of vaccinated, because for now, and I guess in the future, vaccination will be the only solution in the fight against this disease, with simultaneous application of epidemiological measures – said Dr. Stoiljković answering journalists’ questions.
As she added, vaccination is the only solution in the fight against the corona virus, and any opposition to the fight against this contagious disease, even through the propaganda of non-vaccination, will only make the path to victory over the pandemic more difficult.
When asked to comment on the fact that there is a great interest of citizens for “our” vaccine, Dr. Stoiljković points out that citizens have long-term trust in the products of the “Torlak” Institute, which gives satisfaction to the management of the Institute.
Dr. Stoiljković says that in addition to the vaccine against the corona virus, the Torlak Institute has produced and made available to the citizens of Serbia 200,000 doses of the flu vaccine for the upcoming flu season.
– The plan is to expand the plant for the production of flu vaccine in the near future, as well as to renew and improve the complete production of existing pharmaceutical products at the Institute – says Dr. Stoiljković.
