The CENTER for programs to support the economy and micro, small and medium-sized companies of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce offers guidelines for beginners in business and basic information on what it takes to start your own fitness studio.
To begin with, it is necessary to provide a space that is adapted for performing fitness services, equipment, that is, professional equipment harmonized with the programs and services that the fitness center will offer.
When it comes to room layout, the studio should have locker rooms for men and women, a toilet with showers, a reception desk, a hall for group programs and a gym.
At least two instructors and as many receptionists should work in the fitness studio, as well as the person in charge of maintaining hygiene.
Specification and adaptation of space
The space needs to have a ceiling height of at least three meters due to the placement of the device.
If the gym is located on the floor, the floor must be stable enough to withstand the weight of exercise equipment and activities during exercise that include running, jumping, lowering weights (load 500kg per square meter). It is important that the exercise area has good ventilation and quality lighting.
It often happens that the layout of the equipment in gyms is not adequate. That is why it is important to provide at least five square meters of space for one place where the device is located.
