DRINA is a border as much as we want it to be a border.

The Drina divides us as much as we allow it to divide us. The day must be connected on both sides, because we are doing the same and we are looking forward to the same things – said, at the opening of the “Bratoljub” bridge and the new border crossing, Aleksandar Vulin, the Minister of Internal Affairs in the Government of Serbia.
According to him, “this bridge is hope and I hope that these wonderful children, whom you brought, and for which I am very grateful to you, grow up much happier than we grew up.”
– While Serbia is led by Aleksandar Vučić, Republika Srpska will be guarded, defended, helped wherever it is needed and in whatever way it is needed. Every victory of the Republika Srpska is also a victory of the Republic of Serbia. Every success of RS makes us happy, and every sorrow and torment affects us, because they are also our sorrow and torment – said Vulin. – Republika Srpska and the Republic of Serbia want peace, they want prosperity. We built this bridge for two years, and then we waited for at least four years for the bureaucrats and the evil political will to have mercy and allow the citizens from both shores to live and work better and easier.
According to Vulin, there is no justification for waiting six years to cross this beautiful bridge, and Serbia did everything it needed to do, quickly and immediately. He congratulated the people from the banks of the Drina, wishing them happiness, health and all the best, emphasizing that there should be no border between the brothers.
The bridge that the state of Serbia built in 2017 is 227 meters long and 14 meters wide. It stands on eight pillars, four of which are on a living river. Serbia set aside 13 million euros for its construction. BiH, through the Indirect Taxation Authority, has built buildings on the left bank of the Drina, for the control of vehicles, passengers, goods, customs and inspections.
Great gratitude to Serbia “for this visionary work on the Drina, for the benefit of the people from both banks of the Drina, was expressed by the RS Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic, Minister of Communications and Transport in the BiH Council of Ministers Vojin Mitrovic, as well as Milan Jovanovic, Ljubovija mayor and mayor Municipality of Bratunac Srdjan Rankic. Their message that this joint big deal of the two-bank authorities is “just the beginning” of great deeds of importance to the people around the rivers.
