Speaking about the law on the referendum, Vučić said that it was passed at the insistence of the Venice Commission and the EU.
– Taken directly from the Venice Commission. That we should not go to over 50 percent or to special censuses. They think that by doing so, we will assimilate voters who abstain or do not turn out, but encourage those who are active. The other thing is to encourage referendums, and we haven’t had one in a long time. Everything is based on our Constitution and EU rules. The worst is when those who swear in the EU, I mean those like this Brkovic, do not know anything about this. And no one in power knows how to tell them about it. This has nothing to do with Rio Tinto, I say that because of the citizens who are really sincerely concerned about the environment.
He says that it is good that ecology is a topic today, and that Rio Tinto has nothing to do with the law.
– We have not hidden anything from anyone, and these people know that. I’m not talking about ordinary people, but about the organizers. They want to take over from these others, as the elections go on. Those who organized it are pure political criminals. The constitution says that everyone has the right to move freely in Serbia, and that it can only be restricted by law in extreme situations. You are violating the basic constitutional right of all citizens. They complain about the excavator. Well, he can come up with whatever he wants. No one has the right to prevent people from traveling, except the police – the president said.
