The PARLIAMENTARY Committee on Constitutional Issues and Legislation decided today that the question in the referendum on constitutional changes reads: “Are you in favor of determining the act on changing the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia?”.

The members of the committee unanimously decided that this should be the question on which the citizens are voting in the referendum with the offered answers.
The committee then sent a request to the Republic Election Commission for an opinion on the adopted proposal.
At 11 a.m., another session of this Committee will follow, at which the members should determine the Draft Act on Changing the Constitution, the Draft Constitutional Law for Implementing the Change of the Constitution and the Draft Decision on Calling a Referendum, in order to confirm the act on changing the Constitution.
Earlier today, Parliament Speaker Ivica Dacic said that if the Committee had full agreement on the text of the constitutional amendments, it could already schedule a parliamentary session at which the text would be adopted and call a referendum on January 16.
