ONE of the rare Pannonian peaks, Titelski breg, at the mouth of Begej in Tisza, near Titel, is a witness to turbulent historical events and according to some oral narratives and rare written records, is the place where Attila the Whip of God, the legendary Hun leader, was buried.

Only the confluence of two tame, plain rivers could correspond to the act of the legendary sinking of the coffin in golden chariots, and the nearby shore, a place where generals, faithful and loyal to the mystical warrior, salute, from which almost all powerful people of that time shunned.
– If we add to that historical act the exact angle of refraction of the sun’s rays in the early afternoon, just before winter, at the moment of the sinking of the carriage, there is real proof that this area of light terraces and Pannonian plateaus is exactly that place – says Milan Nedeljkov, Zrenjaninac he spends a lot of time at the top of Titelski breg, noting that it is a real mystery whether the coffin in the golden chariots is still somewhere at the bottom of the Tisza.
HISTORIANS INTERESTED
Numerous historians from Novi Sad, Zrenjanin and Titel have confirmed that they will jointly embark on a research endeavor, with the confirmation that the area of Titelski breg has been insufficiently historically studied and researched.
– The mystique related to the funeral of Attila the Whip of God, which all sonar and modern technology have not solved, opens up the possibility of research and tourist adventure, which can
be a good start for establishing real ethno tourism and monitoring historical events in many segments of human migration and heritage of the people who lived in the plain – adds Nedeljkov, emphasizing similar activities in Beli Blato, a village that entered a significant project activity,
Ionian-Adriatic network of interesting villages, which will further profile all the potentials of the villages near Titelski breg.
