DOCTORS who are members of the Crisis Staff will ask that the covid pass be valid from 6 pm. That is just one of the topics that will be on the agenda at tomorrow’s session of the Crisis Staff for the fight against coronavirus.
Due to the danger of the appearance of the omicron strain of the virus that is already ravaging Europe, the arrival of guest workers on the eve of the holidays, as well as the New Year’s Eve, members of the Crisis Staff will demand the introduction of stricter epidemiological measures.
– The epidemiological situation is currently calmer, but we must be careful because everything can be ruined overnight by the god of spreading the mutated strain that is already burning in Europe. That is why measures will be considered at tomorrow’s session, which will prevent the number of infected people from jumping back to several thousand. First of all, the proposal is for the school holidays to start two weeks earlier, ie to start on December 20. Also, another proposal is that the kovid pass is valid 24 hours or at least from 18 hours, but also to be extended to all other facilities, including gyms, cinemas, hairdressers … We will ask for a ban on New Year’s concerts, but also quarantine for all those who arrive in Serbia during the holidays. The idea is to tighten the measures on the ski slopes as well, so that you can buy a ski pass only with a kovid pass – the source reveals.
Epidemiologist and member of the Crisis Staff, Dr. Predrag Kon, has already pointed out that we must not ignore the appearance of a new strain.
– The new virus was discovered on November 11 and was very quickly introduced as a very worrying variant of the corona. We will monitor the situation, but there is no reason to panic at the moment. It is clear that surveillance of endangered countries will have to be strengthened, “said Dr Cohn, explaining what this actually means:
– As for passengers who come from countries where omicron is registered, we will insist that the measures taken in Europe are applied in our country as well. This means that they have to go to quarantine regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not. The only way out of this situation is vaccination, even if there is no complete effect on some strains. But we must understand that vaccination is the protection of ourselves and others, that it is the protection of our country, a patriotic act. This must be especially understood by young people, who have not yet been sufficiently vaccinated – he pointed out.
So, Serbian guest workers, whether they are vaccinated or not, as well as foreigners who come from countries where a new dangerous strain of coronavirus omicron has been registered, it is already certain that they will have to be in a mandatory two-week quarantine upon arrival in Serbia.
