The doctor, who was the head of admission to the Kovid hospital in Batajnica, said that the differences in the clinical picture of vaccinated and unvaccinated patients were huge, and that they did not ask the same questions.
– I was the head of the reception in Batajnica, in the two weeks I was there, there were no vaccinated people with a more severe picture, they ended up on a respirator or, God forbid, they died. Each patient is given a name, surname, whether he has been vaccinated, and an X-ray of his lungs. Vaccinated people fare incomparably better, I speak from experience because I treated a huge number of patients both during and in the postcovid – said Dr. Simeunović and then explained the effect of the vaccine.
– The story is complex, but we have to explain it simply. The vaccine enables the timely start of the immune system. Bacterial infection attacks at the cellular level, but the virus is like a malignancy, it penetrates deep into the body, and if we do not decipher it in time, it is a big ‘game’ how the body will fight. The vaccinated organism creates cells that will defend it, enters the immune response and defense in time, and prevents the worst, and that is the terminal, almost incurable phase of the disease – he warned.
According to the cardiologist, extremely sudden and sudden worsening of the condition occurred in unvaccinated patients.
– You talk to the patient, and he falls on the respirator in a few hours. The virus “took away” two thirds of his lungs in that time. And the vaccinated patient, who did well but saw the unvaccinated in the hospital, only asks after leaving – when can I get vaccinated again – he said.
– The virus is adapting to us as we are to it, and it is not known where it ends, but it is important that we be ready and get used to living with this infection for a few more years – he said.
In the current wave, the clinical picture was more difficult, currently the situation is somewhat better in the red zone, and the doctor hopes that by mid-January the situation will be even more favorable.
