On April 3, BELGRADE citizens will, in addition to the President of Serbia and MPs, also vote for councilors in the City Assembly.
A total of 11 lists that will compete for seats in the Old Palace have been announced by the City Election Commission, and coalitions and parties that submitted signatures are participating in the capital’s election race by midnight on Sunday, when the application deadline expired.
On the ballot, the first place was “reserved” by the list “Aleksandar Vucic – Together we can do everything”, the second by “Ivica Dacic – Prime Minister of Serbia, Toma Fila Mayor” (SPS, JS and “Greens of Serbia”), the top three were “taken” by “Dr. Vojislav Seselj – “Serbian Radical Party”, and the fourth is “Milica Djurdjevic Stamenkovski – Serbian Party of Defenders”. “Vladeta Janković – United for the Victory of Belgrade” will be fifth in the Belgrade elections, while “Dr Miloš Jovanović – Hope for Belgrade – National Democratic Alternative – Serbian Coalition Hope – DSS – For the Kingdom of Serbia (Monarchists) – Vojislav Mihailović” will be sixth.
The list “We must – For a good city – Let’s not drown Belgrade – Action – Ecological uprising – Silence – Election for our municipality – Solidarity platform – Roma Forum of Serbia – Dobrica Veselinovic” is number seven for the Belgrade elections, while the eighth “Dusko Vujosevic – Boris Tadic – Let’s go people – Social Democratic Party – New Party – 1 out of 5 million – Tolerance of Serbia – United Green Movement of Serbia – Bosniak Civic Party – Montenegrin Party, ninth is “Nemanja Sarovic – For the whole normal world”, and tenth is “Sovereignists – Sasa Radulovic (DJB), Milan Stamatovic (ZS) and Dr. Jovana Stojkovic (ZZS) “. The last on the list, under number 11, is the coalition “Boško Obradović – Serbian Movement Dveri – POKS – Miloš Parandilović – Patriotic Bloc for the Reconstruction of the Kingdom of Serbia”.
Of these 11 lists, only a few highlighted their candidates for mayor of Belgrade, while for others, the only goal is to gain the trust of voters and elect a seat on the board.
The first on the SNS list is the celebrated water polo player and long-term president of the New Belgrade CSO, Aleksandar Šapić, while the coalition around the SPS in the Old Palace wants a respectable lawyer, Tom Phil. The candidate of the Radicals for the position of the first man of the capital is Dr. Miljko Ristic, monarchist Vojislav Mihailovic, and Boris Tadic proposed basketball coach Dusko Vujosevic. The youngest of all candidates for mayor of the capital is Dobrica Veselinovic from the “We Have to” coalition.
NUMBER OF VOTERS
THE PRESIDENT of the Belgrade City Election Commission, Zoran Lukić, says that 1,198 polling stations have been determined for the upcoming elections in Belgrade. He pointed out that currently, according to the voter list, there are 1,597,000 citizens with the right to vote in the capital.
– The total number of voters will be determined 15 days before the elections, that is, three days, and the final number three days before the elections, which will be held on April 3 – said Lukić.
