With the blessing of Bishop Teodosije of Raska and Prizren, and in the presence of the Secretary of the Diocese Sasa Mitrovic, local parish priest Simo Cumburovic, Banjska residents, the mayor of northern Kosovo and the deputy mayor of North Mitrovica, Minister of Communities and Returns Goran Rakic laid the foundation stone for the construction of the parish hall. gates of the Church of St. Nicholas in Banjska near Vushtrri.
According to the announcement of the Ministry of Returns, the idea for the construction of such a facility came in April last year, because during the visit it was pointed out that the church needed it, so that Serbs could gather there and celebrate holidays after church liturgies.
– We will always support such and similar projects because they are valuable for our people. Today, in Banjska, but also in other places, we will help the church because it is of essential and vital importance for the survival of Serbs. I am very pleased that we started a significant work today and the parish hall will be ready in the next few months – said Minister of Communities and Returns Goran Rakic after laying the foundation stone and pointed out very important that Serbs in this part of Kosovo survive the problems they face. The locals point out that this is a big and happy day for them, while Father Simo Čumburović notes that the church lacked one such facility, because the old man could not meet the needs of the locals. He says that this is a great contribution and that the church gate will be a gathering place for all believers and good people.
