CITIZENS of the capital, who are voting at one of the four polling stations where the results of the elections from April 3 were annulled, will again take the ballot in their hands on Saturday. Voting is repeated in two places in Palilula, once in the Old Town and in Cukarica. Although the opposition in Belgrade trusts in the good result of the “Let’s go people” list, in order to pass the census, it is necessary for their ordinal number to round up between 1,500 and 2,000 voters, out of 5,804 registered voters.
When the calculation is made, having in mind that 3,050 voters went to the polls, and that the opposition coalitions and parties – “United for the victory of Belgrade”, “We must”, NADA and Dveri – received a total of 1,275 votes at those polling stations, chances for winning the mandate of the “Let’s go people” list is unrealistic. Even if all those voters on the opposition lists would now support Tadic’s alliance.
In the elementary school “Filip Visnjic”, at polling station number 31 – Palilula, 2,087 voters are enrolled, of which 1,023 citizens turned out two weeks ago. If the list led by Dusko Vujosevic in Belgrade counts on all the votes of the opposition, plus the previous result of 31 votes, they would win a total of 551 votes at this polling station. All on the assumption that the distribution of forces does not change drastically in the repeated voting. At the second polling station in this municipality, in the elementary school “Ivan Milutinović”, which has 1,684 voters, Tadić’s list was rounded up by 19 voters, while the trust in other lists, not counting SNS and SPS, was given by a total of 274 voters.
If the mood of the voters from April 3 is repeated, the list “Let’s go people” in the House of Culture “Velika Moštanica” in Čukarica can count on its own and the votes of the opposition from April 3, collectively – with 304 votes out of 1,390 registered. MZ Terazije in the Old Town with 643 voters is again adapting for the needs of voting, and at this place in the previous voting, the election of Vujosevic as mayor was “rounded off” by 15 voters, while Zavetnici, “Ujedinjeni”, NADA and “Moramo” had another 200.
85 COMPLAINTS DISMISSED
At the session on Sunday evening, the CITY Election Commission rejected 85 objections to voting at the polling stations in Belgrade, which were submitted by the lists “Let’s go people”, “We have to”, “United for the victory of Belgrade”. The GIK’s reasoning is that the objections are unfounded.
