– I just finished long and difficult conversations. Today’s talks were burdened by Pristina’s unilateral and illegal decision to apply for membership in the Council of Europe. But the fact that we are still here in Brussels today shows that we are a responsible party, which above all takes care of peace and stability in the Western Balkans. And if someone attacks us, and there were those who attacked us in recent weeks that we are the ones who want to destabilize the Western Balkans, they could still see today, as who knows how many times, that we are the responsible side because we are here to talk.
– I also used this moment to protest against the unilateral and illegal decision of Pristina. We also discussed numerous and important topics. First of all, to those who are important for Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija. We talked about the formation of the JCC, we are entering the tenth year as Pristina refuses to form the JCC, that is an important, key issue for us for the normalization of relations – said Petković.
Among other things, economic issues were discussed, as well as missing persons, said the director for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petković.
Freedom of movement was also mentioned, as well as the ban on Serbian politicians entering Kosovo and Metohija, but Pristina rejects any initiative for dialogue.
Even today, there was no direct meeting between the representatives of Pristina and Petro Petković in Brussels, and one of the main reasons is the refusal to discuss the formation of the Union of Serbian Municipalities and the issue of the missing.
– We are here to preserve peace and stability, we are here to fight, we do not agree to blackmail, but on the other hand, as a responsible party, we understand the importance of dialogue – Petković emphasized.
