Croatian MEP Zeljana Zovko, who organized a conference on his life, work and legacy in the European Parliament building yesterday, consciously changed the national affiliation of the famous Serbian scientist.
The fact that Croats adopt a famous Serbian scientist born in Austria-Hungary is not so surprising, having in mind illegal aspirations that they haven’t hidden for a long time. However, the attitude of the European Parliament, which approves such and similar gatherings under its roof, is surprising, washing its hands with the attitude that the authors can organize the events they want and that they are responsible for them. They say that there was no resolution on Nikola Tesla’s affiliation! It is only important that European values are respected. Do they mean choosing their own nationality?
Respect for national minorities? Not kidnapping someone else? Croatian MPs, in the name of the same values, were able to organize an exhibition about Alojzije Stepinac in the EP in due time! Are European values Holocaust denial and glorification of Nazism? Respect for religion? Human life?
Nothing, surely the great Croat was the one whose father was an Orthodox priest, who was baptized in the Orthodox Church in Smiljan, whose family members killed 11 members of the Ustashas, when in all neutral international sources they record him as a member of the Serbian family, when in the middle of New York eternal rest accompanied by the song “Far away”. It will be interesting to see whether the deputies from Serbia, when we become a member, in the EP will have the right to debate against Tesla on the Croatian euro. Or, say, an exhibition on NATO aggression against Serbia without the approval of the UN Security Council, in violation of conventions and rules of war?
