At yesterday’s session, the REPUBLIC Election Commission (REK) declared the list “Serbia for Vlachs – Together we can do everything” for the elections for members of the national council of the Vlach national minority.
It was established that the list, with 23 candidates, meets all the requirements, and the total number of legally valid statements of voters supporting it is 773.
On November 13, the members of the REC also adopted the Schedule for conducting election activities in the procedure of direct elections for members of national councils of national minorities. A decision was also adopted to determine the color of the ballots and the color of the control sheet for checking the correctness of the ballot box.
With the decision signed on Monday by the Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, Gordana Čomić, elections were announced for the members of the national councils of 23 minorities. Council members will be elected directly or through the electoral assembly.
Registration of members of national minorities in a special voter list will last until October 27. Only those members of minorities who are registered in the special voter list of their minority have the right to vote in the elections for the national councils.
For 19 national minorities, the elections on November 13 will be immediate. For four – Goran, Macedonian, Croatian and Montenegrin, it will be through the electoral assembly.
Ballots of different colors are provided for voting for national councils, so that each minority will have its own color. The control sheet for checking the correctness of the ballot box will be white.
