HISTORIAN and publicist Srđa Trifković said that Germany was the most affected in terms of the energy crisis caused by the introduction of sanctions against Russia.
– The Germans are in by far the worst position, where we have duplicated effects of succumbing to American pressure for irrational sanctions against Russia. Russia has cut off supplies even to the North Stream 1, due to non-serviceability of the equipment, which they accuse Siemens of sending parts to Canada, which it retained due to sanctions. Italy is also in a very difficult situation – said Srđa Trifković.
The professor states that the filling of gas reserves has reached 80 percent, and much of it comes at three times the price of a year ago. He expects that Europe will “get through” next winter, but the problem is what will happen in the long term.
– In the long term, if the supply of energy from Russia is completely cut off, the situation on the European market will really be such that it will lead the economies of the key industrial powers of Europe (and those are Germany and Italy) into a deep recession – warns Srđa Trifković.
With the current state of energy, a whole series of branches that use a lot of electricity and gas will be in a state of chronic crisis, the professor stated for the Happy TV morning program.
