It is NOT important to Europe that there is no gas, that inflation is raging, or that it does not know how it will get through the winter. The number one topic in Brussels circles has been Belgrade’s “Europride” for days. Even the British, who are in mourning, “mourn” the cancellation of the “walk”.
That’s how an article about “pride” in Serbia was published in the “Guardian”, right after the news about the death of Queen Elizabeth. And the whole analysis is illustrated like this: a row of photos of believers with crosses and icons, nuns, all frowning, and then smiling girls kissing, next to a rainbow flag. They did not forget the photo of the attack on a gay activist from 2001. But there is none from the previous “parades” held in Belgrade.
No argument for cancellation is good enough neither for the EU nor for the Western media, not even the police assessment that lives could be endangered. Attacks by extreme right-wingers, which they cannot deal with in their capitals, they would like to see on our streets. They would get more arguments for new criticism of Belgrade.
And while one by one the member of the European Parliament, standing on the sidelines of human rights, advertises that he condemns the ban on the “walk”, to announce his arrival and to support the gathering, despite the ban, none of them mentions that there is also a gathering of those who are against “Pride” as well. , forbidden! That walk is not according to their standards of human rights.
Or the human rights of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, who suffer daily attacks! No one from Brussels raised a finger when Nemanja Mitrović and his father Saša from Babino Most near Obilić were stabbed by Albanians just because they were Serbs. There was no announcement, no blame to Pristina for their institutions being blind and deaf to these attacks. That’s why no one was punished. And maybe there will be walks. At the cost of disorder, at the cost of broken heads. In Brussels, they don’t ask for the price! They don’t pay her!
