The MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, held today, on the margins of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, a series of bilateral meetings with the ministers of foreign affairs of countries from all parts of the world.
Selaković, as in the previous three days, had a very busy schedule and met with more than 20 heads of diplomacy and had a very meaningful conversation with the special representative for the “Alliance of Civilizations” Miguel Angel Moratinos.
Concrete initiatives to improve bilateral cooperation were launched with many interlocutors, and several agreements were signed: on cooperation in agriculture with Cape Verde, on legal assistance in civil matters and air traffic with Brazil, and on the abolition of visas for holders of diplomatic and official passports with Tajikistan.
The inevitable topic in all the talks was the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, and the interlocutors listened with great attention to the arguments of Minister Selaković when it comes to the international legal foundations on which Serbia bases the defense of its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Today, as in the previous days, one of the main topics in the contacts of the heads of diplomacy was the situation in the world, especially the crisis in the supply of food and energy, and Minister Selaković shared with many interlocutors his experiences in dealing with these challenges.
Among Minister Selaković’s interlocutors today was the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Samoa Fiama Naomi Mata’afa, a high-ranking official of a country with which Serbia does not yet have diplomatic relations, and who expressed interest in establishing cooperation with our country.
Selaković was also invited to participate in a working lunch within the framework of the Central European Initiative, which was attended by several ministers of foreign affairs.
